Julien Martineau

mandolin 


Born in 1978 in Paris area, he studied at the National Conservatoires of Argenteuil and Rueil-Malmaison then at the Paris Conservatoire (CNSM) and Sorbonne University where he is now finishing his phD thesis in musicology.

Since 1995, he collaborates regularly with National Capitole Orchestra of Toulouse, the Orchestre National de France, and the National Operas of Paris and Lyon. In 1998, he wins the Giuseppe Anedda's Prize at the Varazze International Mandolin Competition in Italy.

Encouraged by Maestro Michel Plasson, he recorded with him the Natalie Dessay Airs d'opéras album, then he played 2nd concerto of Raffaele Calace at Halle aux Grains of Toulouse with soloists of National Orchestra of Capitole.

He was also invited  to play mandolin concertos with the Orquestra Metropolitana de Lisboa, Ensemble Baroque de Toulouse, Ensemble Bonsaï... He will play concertos in 2009 with Orchestre de Chambre de Toulouse.

He plays regularly with the pianist Nicolas Jouve and the altist Domingo Mujica, viola solo of the National Capitole Orchestra of Toulouse. He will pay sonatas program with Bertrand Chamayou in 2009.

Julien Martineau is mandolin professor at Conservatory of Toulouse.
